It's the question we hear most, usually right after “does it come in blue?” (It does.) Every AlwaysCat stands 40 cm tall, which is about 15.7 inches, and weighs around 2.4 kg. In real life, that's roughly the height of a cat sitting up straight, ears included. You carry it in both arms, like in the photo above, not in one hand.
Numbers on a screen are hard to picture, so here are a couple of things you probably have at home. A sheet of A4 paper is 29.7 cm on its long side, so the cat is a good hand's width taller. A wine bottle is around 30 cm: stand one next to the cat and the cat wins by about a third.
Our favourite trick is even simpler. Grab a tape measure, hold it up to 40 cm on the spot you have in mind, and imagine a real cat sitting there. If that looks right, the sculpture will too.
Where it looks best
We like it best on a sideboard or a hallway console, where it's the first thing you see when you walk in. A bookshelf works too, as long as you have a bit more than 40 cm between the shelves and enough depth for it to sit flat. On the floor, next to the sofa or at the bottom of the stairs, it looks like a cat keeping watch, which is a little bit the point. And on an office desk it tends to become the team mascot within a week.
