It's the question we hear most, usually right after “does it come in blue?” (It does.) Every AlwaysCat stands 45 cm tall, which is about 17.7 inches, and weighs around 2.4 kg. In real life, that's roughly the height of a cat sitting up straight, ears included. You carry it in both arms, like in the photo above, not in one hand.
Numbers on a screen are hard to picture, so here are a couple of things you probably have at home. A sheet of A4 paper is 29.7 cm on its long side, so the cat is about 15 cm taller than an A4 sheet held upright. A wine bottle is around 30 cm; the cat stands about half as tall again.
Our favourite trick is even simpler. Grab a tape measure, hold it up to 45 cm on the spot you have in mind, and imagine a real cat sitting there. If that looks right, the sculpture will too.
Where it looks best
We like it best on a sideboard or a hallway console, where it's the first thing you see when you walk in. It is 35 cm deep, more than most bookshelves. A chest of drawers or a deep shelf with a bit more than 45 cm of headroom works well too. On the floor, next to the sofa or at the bottom of the stairs, it looks like a cat keeping watch, which is a little bit the point. And on an office desk it tends to become the team mascot within a week.

We only make one shape, so whichever finish you pick, you get the same 45 cm silhouette (each piece is made and painted by hand, so its dimensions can vary slightly). What changes is the character. The plain colours in Classic and Colors are calm and graphic. Art and Signature are painted with patterns, from hearts to Mondrian lines. The limited edition is numbered.
